JR XP652 BATTERY CONNECTOR
Exactly how does the battery connector (plug) disconnect from the socket which is mounted to a small PC board. The connector assembly is less than securely mounted. I have applied a reasonable amount of pressure so there must be a way of releasing it. I don't want to break the connector and I know everyone except me knows how to release it. And the answer is? Thx

RE: JR XP652 BATTERY CONNECTOR
My JR was the same way - but after some close examination, it was apparent that the connector was 'hot glued' into the receptacle. That was the case on most of my JR radios. If you are careful and persistent you can get that connector out - but you were wise not to use force. I remember using something to soften the hotglue - but its been a while
good luck.
good luck.

The trick is to use your thumbnail.
Feel for the lip on the socket from the battery, put your nail underneath it, push in slightly and pop the connector upwards. It soon becomes second nature.
