Default help me with this intermitant servo problem

CEN MT2 monster truck

With radio on and truck on -the steering servo always works .

The throttle servo will work with the truck in my hand off the ground all the time.
Put the truck on the ground and walk away and it works.
start driving it and the throttle stops working (goes to an idle)( but the steering keeps working)
I have the truck on the work bench and there is nothing I can do to make the throttle stop working.
Futaba 3PK radio with non digital futaba reciever.

I switched crystal in the radio to try another buggy and it works flawlessly.

What would be the most common problems to cause this?
reciever?
vibration causing the servo to stop?
the pull start rubbing on the throttle linckage?
I can swap recievers BTW from my other buggy as a test.

auto2,

Sounds like the receiver is going into the failsafe mode, usually that means bringing the throttle to idle. Have you tried a different receiver? Just a thought.

yes after I wrote down the problem I started to think the same thing.
tomorrow I'll try the "problem" car with the saved setup from the mugen that works fine. It has to be the radio cause why else would it go from full throttle to idle .
SO question is wht is it going into fail safe on one car and not the other?

auto2,

You stated that you switched the crystal in the radio to try another buggy. Which crystal did you change? If you changed the transmitter crystal and the transmitter worked ok with another buggy, then the problem is probably with the receiver (probably the case anyway). Try putting the receiver from the other buggy in the one with the problem and see if that fixes it. If so, then the receiver is probably at fault.

yup that is the first thing to do tomorrow.
nice to have 2 of everything.LOL!

When I get it fixed I'll post the solution...

I have failsafe set to steering "0" throttle "-9"
so it can't be fail safe causing it cause the steering works when the throttle stops. right?

You mentioned that you still had steering when this happened. That eliminates fail safe. Failsafe affects the whole receiver not just one channel.

Iron cross= yes you are correct, and I agree with you BUT I just turned OFF the fail safe and the problem went away!
Go figure! I redid the fail safe setting and if fail safe is ON the throttle wont work as soon as the truck moves 5 feet on it's own.

Oh and with the mugen buggy ( with the radio set to mugen ) and fail safe ON the mugen works perfect.

I'm going to try using "mugen" setting in the radio with the CEN and see what happens.

BTW the radio came with crystal #66 which I have in the mugen reciever. I'm changing the radio crystal to #87 which is in the CEN reciever.

both buggy and MT have the same part # recievers.

Are the "fail sfae" setting in memory in the reciever?

Oh and BTW I have fail safe set to full brake but I;m getting idle when the problem occors.

Guess I need to swap recievers and see what happens.
