Mine when flying only lasts about one full hour or about 4-15 minute flights with some safety left over. If you want more flying time buy a lithium Transmitter pack from either Duralite Plus or Powerflite and you can fly nearly a month on a charge lol.

On my stock 9C pack, I can get about 2.5 hours out of it.

For the standard pack that comes with the radio, a couple of hours plus a little safety margin should be about right. I think if I could only get an hour, I would be a bit concerned! I have read that power consumption goes up considerably if you use the Hitec Spectra module (not legal, but a common practice).

Mine gets 1.5 hours plus a nice reserve on the stock pack. Usually that's plenty for a day of flying, and if it isn't then it doesn't take too long to charge the stock pack.

That sounds about right. I replaced mine with a 1650mah NiMh from www.radicalrc.com. While the battery never went dead before, I feel more comfortable with the extra capacity.

No need - the 9C does everything I need it to with my aerobats. If I ever get really serious about heli flying then I might go to a 9Z, but the 9C is such an awesome radio that I don't see needing more features for the type of flying that I do.

This is normal. I changed my pack to a Hydamax 1650 pack and I get 5 hours of flight time with it.

I made my own 1850 mah nimh transmitter battery pack with some parts from Radical RC (solder tabs and shrink wrap) and batteries from Walmart. Total cost was about $21.00. I use my Ace smart charger to charge it, and the battery lasts longer than I do on any given day at the field! Last time I was at Walmart I noticed the batteries are now rated at 2200 mah!!

I took the 8 AA batteries from my transmitter and I made two 700 Mah packs from them!!!

Diablo,

You're right, the stock charger will not work. I have either a Cirrus Cycle Pro or an Alpha 4 as my regular chargers.

I made my own from 1850 mAh cells and charge with a Triton charger. Fully charged, it just about lasts whole day worth of flying. These days, I top off the 9C TX battery after a couple three flights, so I don't see a need to go even higher capacity.
