Can 7U Super do as much as an 8U?
I notice a lot of people recommending the 8U for its ability to program lots and lots of different mixes. I have a 7U Super, will it do the same mixes?

RE: Can 7U Super do as much as an 8U?
Hi, Clay. Sorry, no, the 8U was the replacement for the 7U super and the 7U super has far less capability and flexibility than the 8U with the 8U super being the next step up and then the 9C.
Among other things the 7U has no function capability within trainer programming so the student radio MUST have all the capabilities of the model to fly the model (on the 8U/super/9c, the model can be a 12 servo aerobat and the student a 4-channel dummy buddy box and the student gets all the capabilities of the master)
The 7U trainer programming, like the 6X, requires the student radio to be PCM if the master/receiver are operating in PCM. 8U/S/9C/9Z allow the student to be FM regardless of the receiver modulation.
As far as your mixes, you have no link option, no trim option (CRITICAL IN LOTS OF SITUATIONS LIKE TWIN RUDDER SERVOS), and no ability to make the mix always on (similarly critical for twin rudder servos or twin anything...)
Your dual rate switch assignability is very limited.
Similarly the heli functions in the 7U Super are more limited.
dont get me wrong, the 7U Super is a GREAT radio, it is just not as capable as the 3 generations since.
