JR Max 6. Is it worth it?
Dear all knowing ones,
I have recently purchased a 71" Tiger moth and am looking to purchase a used radio to control it. I have found a few used Max 6's available. So now for the questions:
1. Does the Max 6 buddy with an JR F400?
2. Does the Max 6 give you multiple plane memory?
3. What is the ballpark worth of a Max 6 Tx, RX, w/4 servos and charger etc.?
4. Can I trust the Max 6 with my new investment or should I keep looking?
Thank you,
Jay

RE: JR Max 6. Is it worth it?
I know you hate to hear this but buy a new radio. It is good to have the warranty. I got back into flying this year from a 6 year break. I used all my old radio's, and had glitch after glitch. I even bought used and got an old worn out radio and lost more money trying to save money. You can send a glitched new radio back to the company, but not more than likely a used one. I dont think the max 6 is compatible with the f-400.??maybe I'm wrong. The max series ended in the early to mid 90's I think. It does not give multiple plane memory. Only computer radios do that. This is analog. You can only control one model. Unless you set it up for more than one but it's a pain without the storage of a comp. radio. I would say a good condition jr max 6 system is worth about 75.00. THat is to me. It is possible to get a good used radio. But in my opinion you will save more money to go ahead and get new. Check out the hitec flash 5. It is a simple begginer computer radio, and affordable. Has a 5 model storage memory with digital trims. Hope this helps
