You're going to get a lot of opinions... I'd suggest going to the LHS and the field you'll be flying at and asking the same question... it's no use getting one brand if there's no available buddy box for it at the field... go to the LHS/field and ask to see several different makes/models and ask what advantages/disadvantages one has over the other... try holding them...some will feel better than others... see if you can get hold of the manuals for a few of them and see how difficult they are to program... I think as long as you get one from one of the major manufacturers, you won't go too far wrong.
