Default (newbie) servo question

im fairly new to the rc plane scene and was recently told that its not good to have servos too close to batteries in planes and was wondering if this is true.

Default RE: (newbie) servo question

I have never heard this one. I have my throttle and choke servo on a tray that holds my receiver and battery pack. Total distance is probably less than 1/2 inch. No problems here.

Only if the batteries in question are running something which is "noisy". Like a gas motor's ignition module, or a smoke pump.
