Information required!
Hi everyone... im currently studying at Luton University, and one of my modules is Electronic Communications.
i have been set to write a paper on two pieces of equipment regarding radio controlled aircrafts.
"Orbit" 10 channel reed equipment.
"Futaba" M series 6 channel proportional equipment.
my tasks are as follows...
1. a description of how both of these perform their taks with referece to how the controls are actuated.
2. how much control is allowed
3. how the individual control functions are seperated from one another
4. how similar sets maybe operated siultaneously with out interference
other things to analyse are:-
5. how the required information is transmitted from pilot to aircraft
6. the essential components of a communication system
7. the signal inputs to the components
8. the types of modulation
9. methods of encoding control signals
10. how received signals are converted to mechanical movements
11. the types of multiplexing that is used
[]
if any one can help me with some of the questions above then i would be very greatful...
thanks in advance.
Sajj...

You want US to write the paper for you?
That's what research is for. Have you tried searching the internet? A Google search would probably turn up info.

Good luck with the paper.

SAJJ:
It is clear that whomever gave you the task (mischivieus [:@]) made sure you had to do the research...
The main difference is that you are comparing old technology to current technology like comparing an amiga or atari computer (1980's) to a Pentium IV based computer.
The ORbit is an old radio design (I have not ever seen one).. maybe if You search for Reed controller or RC reed radios you can get bettter responses, also try to ask on the Clubhouse or the newbies section) (some older gent's hang in there) but do not reperat the question (its not polite) just ask specific issues.
Also there was a magazine (either Radio control modeler RCM, model airplane news MAN, or model Aviation (MA)) that had a recent article on the development of the radio technology for RC planes...
Also, look for RC clubs in your area and get to a meeting, you can get tons of info that way
and maybe while you're finished you migh try your hadn at one and come fly
Also run some searches here on RCU and check this link

You can also find a lot of resources on the RC Web directory:
http://www.towerhobbies.com/rcweb.html
You may be able to get pointers in the right direction.
