Default Dual Batteries in my R149DP?

I want to use 2 battery packs (5Cell) and 2 switches in my 1/4 scale Extra 300S. Can I use any available channel for the extra battery or do I need to use a Y harness into the battery plug?
Thanks
Jack

Use any two separate channels.
Using a Y don't give you total redundance, since the Y may fail.

I have this exact setup on my PW Extra, through "Y" harnesses with over 165 flights!
It works great.
