Needed help with a futaba t6exa anda sirius pro charger
i have recently purchased my t6exa and a sirius charger. but the charger will no charge my transmitter battery while in the transmitter. and i know that it is because the futabas have a charging diode. so i want to jumper the diode. i have spoken with my lhs and they say to jumper the diode. they have not had a chance to jumper this exact model so they recamended i call the manufacture to get a picture that shows where the jumper is. i have view the manufactures website they do not have this radiop on there yet as it is too new. li call ed tyhe manufacture 3 times now requesting some info and a pic about the diode be sent to my email address. and still nothing. so have any of you done this on your radio? and if so could you please give me some info on the diode.
thanks a bunch guys

the diode only prevents you from discharging the battery .it will charge ok. if your not into cycling batteries and all that stuff just leave everything alone. futaba will not help you because messing around with that diode will void your warrenty

this charger will not charge without the diode being jumpered. i have already found out from the company that makes the charger and my lhs. but nobody has a diode sheet to tell me where the diode is

The Sirius Pro doesn't just pump DC into the battery pack, it pulses back and forth, square wave or something (there is a square waveform painted on the charger)...
So if it can't get a voltage back from the pack, it won't charge.
Anyway, it won't charge the Futaba thru the charge jack. Instead of jumping the diode, I just made an adapter to go from the round TX charge jack to a RX-style plug and just unplug the TX battery inside the TX and charge it that way.

sackingsfan....... i was wrong , sirius did make a charger that cannot charge a futaba radio. i cant think of another field charger that will not work properly with a futaba. i think i would hesitate to buy any product that requires you to void your warranty so that their product will work.

Yeah..since you can't cycle the TX packs anyway, I already had the adapter made up to use on my battery cycler. Now I run 1650 Mah NiMh packs from RadicalRC and don't worry too much about cycling them, the Sirrius Pro is actually the best charger I own for charging NiMh packs so I just stick the adapter on and go. Funny, I own JR TX's, too, and have to have a polarity reverser to charge them!

I had to jumper the diode in my 6ax for the Cirrus also.
It works fine on my 9c as is though. One super fine charger.

I just jumpered the diode on my radio. I've put up a page here.

It'll void your varranty, but it'll really ease your charging.

RE: Needed help with a futaba t6exa anda sirius pro charger
There is another alternative. Hobby Services will take your transmitter and install a switch similiar to what they use on the 9C transmitter that will allow you to use your SIRIUS charger. It costs about $22 and $7.99 shipping and while they are at it they will checkout and tune your transmitter. I had the same situation with my Futaba 6AX and I jumpered the diode because I was out of warrantee.
Hope this helps
