Default Retracts with separate battery

Hi. I was wondering how I could hook up a separate battery for my mechanical retracts on my TF .60 size P-47. I want to know that if my retracts hang up , I am not draining my only battery. Have alot of time building and want to take all precations. Do I need a separate reciever? Any input would help. Model Airplane News did this on the Hanger 9 Mustang 1.20 but they didn`t elaborate.

All you need is a Y lead. Cut the red (centre) wire on the bottom arm of the Y that plugs into the receiver. Plug the retract battery and switch into one of the top arms of the Y and the servo into the other.

Another security i've thought about is to use one extra channel to power the retract servo only as needed (through a micro switch). Moreover, at idle, I believe these retracts servos drain more current than little ones.
