Default Folding antenna wire

Hi I have this profile plane where I routed the antenna wire underneath the fuse. There's about 10 inches of wire dangling loose at the tail end of the fuse. I was thinking of folding the dangling wire onto the wire that is well secured on the fuse, and stick them together with scotch tape. Will this cause any Rx noise ? Anyone done this before without any problems ? Thanks !

No not noise, but some loss of signel. Better to run an ramdon wavy anatena, like out in the wing or tail.

The name for this type a antenna is long wire. If you left it as shipped, about a 2" coil tied in the middle it wouldent be a long wire.

Antennas are funny critters, they are designed to operate at the signal frequency they are receiving or transmitting. If one folded the antenna wire it is effectively shortening the electrical length and detuning it, making it less sensitive to that particular frequency, hence, loss of signal strength.
DON'T FOLD YOUR ANTENNA! LEAVE IT HANGING OUT OR PIN IT UP SOMEWHERE.

Hi Jim ! Got your message loud and clear [8D] I have taped up the dangling portion on the fuse side. Hate to see it drag on the ground, or interfere with the tail surfaces.

As long as it's not folded back on itself tightly it should be okay. Just pin or tape it up out of the way and you will be fine.
