Used 10X module seems to be swapped
Hi,
I just bought a used 10X and on the box it says channel 23, but the module reads channel 49. Will this be ok? I'm a little pist...
Thanks

As long a the whole module was changed and not just the crystal you're fine and legal. Although I'd change the markings on the transmitter to avoid any possible confusion.

Crashed,
Just to expand on Lynx' comments, the module is tuned at the factory to a specific frequency, not the transmitter itself. Therefore, if the module with the original ch 23 crystal was swapped for a factory tuned ch 49 module/crystal assembly, no problem. But if the original ch 23 crystal was simply removed and replaced with a ch 49 crystal, without re-tuning, you're at risk. How much risk has been the subject of endless debates on these forums. Suffice to say that in the best case, you may have suffered a loss in range; in the worst case, you can screw up your buddy on an adjacent channel.
I think I would contact the seller and try to get the straight poop.

Sounds like I'm fine. The entire module was changed, not the crystal...
On another note, I had already ordered crystals for channel 23(he told me it was 23 via email) but when I received it the box said "not 23, 49" and now the crystals I ordered wont work. Local hobby store has 48 and 50, no 49. I hate local hobby stores []

At most theres 3-4 people that fly at the field every weekend. I'm not sure what the deal is around here, guess it's just too expensive for these FL people?
I'll be moving soon to NC or TX, hope theirs a larger flying crowd.
