how much do you spend on servos
how much do you spend on servos?
That's a problem. Every model will definitely occupy several servos.
What's the price for each? just say FUTABA S3003.
I am hereby considering the possibility to spread the Chinese product to you, and just considering the overwhelming market possess of 'Made in China' in the toys and clothing market, I hope it is not trmendously difficult in RC area.
However, I should show something.
The servo (equivalent to FUTABA S3003) will cost US$10
The similar with ball bearing US$12
The mini servo (weighed 6g) US$12
The 7kg*cm servo (metal gear) US$23
(the shipcost will add a bit on)
According to my experience, yes i am a player too, they work perfectly and I trust them.
Can you provide some suggestion for this project.

RE: how much do you spend on servos
Since we can buy 3003's for $12.95, and your "equivalent" is $10, I think you might have a hard sell.
For (only) a $3 difference, I have to choose between a well known and proven brand from a company with a good service track record, and an unknown company with no track record. I'm afraid that I'd prefer to spend the extra $3
You're going after the wrong market. The place to make a difference is to offer a high quality alternative to the $100 digital servo's out there. If you can offer an equivalent for $20, then you'll have my attention.

Thanks a lot with Highflight-RCU, you have mentioned the $100-class servo.
How much torgue may that level provide? Can you provide information for this? thanks
With regard to "service track record", I can send them out as deposit comein.

Take a look at this site for the specs, http://www.servocity.com/ They have the prices and torque of many of the servos we use in most planes, Another selling point would be the parts to repair them if needed. A servo you can't get a gearset for is not worth buying because I will need a new one if I do strip one out, You can get gearsets for $3-$4 us for gearsets.

RE: how much do you spend on servos
heh heh! Modelerly. It's being sold in Singapore. Sells about $16 here. Personally I'd go for the $18 S3003 rather than the Tower Pro's.
I believe people buy servos according to their experiences towards a type/brand of servos. I wouldn't try them Tower Pro's unless the pro @ the club recomends them. Why not spread around some samples (Ignore me, I'm asking for too much).
Cheers

Doubt it.
Anyway, I've got an SG50. Looks good. It performs... like a servo. Works as well as my Pico servos from GWS. Mmm.

If your only spending $16 for a new servo, than you are probably getting what you pay for. Good luck to all of you.
I like the good old JR 517. No longer made, but I find them "like-new" for $20-25 all the time. I suppose I pay too much...

RE: how much do you spend on servos
Que va!
I'm using the SG-50's which are $25 (not US) micro servos comparable to the Hitec 55's and the Pico's. They work, and hasn't turned its back on me, but I can't really judge its long term life as I have only been using it for a week or more. It seems a good servo anyway. It's like $8 cheaper than a 555 and a Pico BB.
Luck?

Hey moderator, how much space is this guy buying on this site? Given the recent controversy over what is advertising or not advertising, this guy seems pretty clear he is out to make a profit.

RE: how much do you spend on servos
theres been a big rise in new members "recommending" products or telling others of special offers found when it's clear all their posts are about the same thing.

RE: how much do you spend on servos
i meant the thread starters
theres a difference between
" hey, I've got some of these and their good "
and
" hey, I've got some of these ( in stock ) and their good "
i know of another thread thats says about some vouchers he " just happened " to have found for $5 off a RCU reviewed product no less, a quick look and he's only ever talking up this plane/company ( and thats all his posts are about ) and seems to have some inside knowledge.
nothing against new members but all of this seems to come from low post count members with one thing on their mind. at 400+ i bet not all of yours are on these servos.

RE: how much do you spend on servos
If I could get any servo cheap it would be an entry level digital. Unlike the US the VAST majority of planes in Aus are .40 to .90 size.
I would really like to get a cheap servo with normal sport servo torque (50 to 70 Inch/oz) but a faster transit speed (about .1 sec) Digital would be a bonus. If you can make a servo to these specs that is cheap. I'll take heaps of them.

I was talking about the thread started as well. He is going to "spread the Chinese product to you" I am sure that this is not just a goodwill mission to bring cheap servos to all of the needy RC'ers.
