Default Futaba S3305 servo's

I just bought a bunch of S3305 sevo's today and after noticed on the spec sheet it states " Ni-Cad use only " Since when does a servo care where the voltage originates!!! Ni-Cad, Ni-MH, Gell cell etc. Any help would be appreciated. Rad

I'm gonna guess that it's because NiCds have a higher output than a NiMH??? Weird. Voltage, sure, but chemistry?????????

Are these servos digital?
If they are high drain and you plan to use them down to the limit of the pack (4.8 volts on a 4 cell pack) then it is an ample warning.

The Futaba S3305 servo is a standard-size, high-torque servo. In order to deliver the power, the motors must draw a lot of current. NiCd cells are able to deliver much higher levels of current than the other types of cells used in the R/C hobby. Oher types of cells just can't deliver high currents without sustaining damage.

What about huge LiPolies and a regulator?

At cutoff voltages, NiCads can hold the current and give a better reserve than the other chemistries.
