Futaba 9C series: problem or rumor?
In a response to a posting for a 9CAF transmitter for sale, one person referred to a problem the 9C series is rumored to have with the V-tail mixing function.
Can anyone with ACTUAL KNOWLEDGE of the FACTS confirm or deny this?
Thanks!

Bob,
I can confirm the glider programming does in fact suffer from a confirmed software bug. A revised 9C was supposed to be here by now, but for reasons I don't know Futaba of Japan is running behind.

9C Software bug
Very good!
Of course, that would mean that all current 9C owners are afflicted with this malady. Too bad, really.
One thought, though: In the past, I have bought Futaba's "latest and greatest " TWICE ( 7UAF and 8UAF) only to have a model introduced a short time later that significantly eclipsed the one I had just bought ( 7 and 8 Super series ).
Perhaps this is just what I needed to hear to cause me to sit on the sidelines and wait for the inevitable, debugged 9CAF Super!

Seriously though, the V-tail bug only affects a specific and complex mix in glider mode. I am not worried at all because I am confident that if and when I get back to flying gliders and and I get a F3B type ship that might use mixes that bring that bug to the surface, AMC and the FutabaUSA crew will work with me on it.
For now, I'm having too much fun to want to give up my 9C to fix a bug that I, in all likelihood, will never encounter.
I believe AMC said that all current productions of 9C already have the bug fix.

That's not true. According to AnnMarie, Tower has yet to receive the revised 9C radios as I talked with her about this just last week.

Futaba 9C series: problem or rumor?
That feature means nothing to me as I dont fly gliders, and never will. I've been programming the heck out of this thing in airplane, and heli mode and it works great. You cant get a better Radio than this at the same price level. Daz...
