Default 4 Channel Radio/5channel receiver??????

I don't understand why radios are often advertised with one more channel receive than transmit. ie a Tower Hobbies 4-th 4 channel FM Radio says 4 channel narow band transmitter with a 7-channel, dual conversion receiver. How does a 4 channel radio operate 7 channels on the receiver end???? Can anyone expalin to this Newbie. Thanks Guys.

The 7ch RX (receiver) will run seven channels. The 4ch TX (transmitter) will only Xmit four channels. The extra three channels on the Rx are not used in this case. Tower brand radio systems are made by Futaba. I think Futaba's smallest airplane Rx is the 7ch. So Tower includes the 7ch RX with their 4ch Tx. Hope this helps.
