Thumb and Forefinger
Thumb and forefinger and just started using a strap, want to go to tray later on. I am an Intro Pilot at our club and I tell people to fly with what is comfortable to them. But I do tell them to try thumb and forefinger because I too think it is smoother. My quote for people to remember to use thumb and forefinger is :
"It takes thumb and forefinger to PEE, so does flying RC" .
Not bragging though. You may use that quote, just give a little credit.
Thanks

Thumb and finger (up to the pilot)
I use the thumb and forfinger with a neck strap. I have tried thumbs only and without a neckstrap. I am not comfortable with either of those setups. Yes, I can fly with thumbs only and/or without a neckstrap.
The bottom line is: What ever method is most comfortable for YOU.
Many people will say the thumb and forefinger provides a more precise control - then again I see people in competition flying with thumbs only.
Neckstraps have some pluses and minuses. It is easier to work the sticks without having also hold the transmitter. It is a pain having to take the neckstrap off to work on the engine (plus being extra careful the strap doesn't get in a moving prop).
Again, bottom line is it is YOUR personal choice. No one way is correct for everyone.
Just my opinion.
