Default receiver question

Is it necesarry to run a pcm receiver in a gasoline burning plane.Reason for asking there is alot more onboard metal to deal with for interference or can you get away with a regular fm receiver? Thanks in advance. Ron

Default RE: receiver question

Ron,
The simple answer is "No". There several discussions regarding this in the "Gas Engine", & "Giant Scale" forums, and they get very heated and involved at times. But they all still conclude that set-up is more important than receiver type. Pretty interesting reading too.

No it is not necessary to use a PCM receiver to run a gas engine.

Default RE: receiver question

Other than Fail Safe, the only major difference between PPM and PCM is noise rejection.
