I got a really good deal on a pair of these servos and was thinking about using them in one of my jets. Anyone used them ? Can they be used at 4.8 volts. All I can find is a rating at 6 volts? Any info wold be appreciated.

Thanks

all servos need to be run at 6.0 i have been running all mine that way for years...use your standard charger and let them charge up..if you hear any hum with your 4.8 pack....your starving your servos...get the extra cell,,,its worth it....

That's not true... All servo can run off of 4.8V (4 cells) but with 6 volts (5 cells) you have more speed and torque with a slight sacrafice in runtime.

Thanks guys

I thought I would call Airtronics direct and got in touch with a tech right away. Excellent service BTW ! I was informed that the servo would be quite happy operating at 4.8 volts and to expect a 20 % drop in torque as compared to it operating at 6 volts. This is still a respectable approx 119 oz / inch. Transit time of .09 sec - this compares favorabley to the 4721 JRs that I regularly operate. Aluminum gears reportly hold up very well. New version 94358 is the same servo but has even higher torque values ( 200 plus ) transit time remains as fast.
