Default rd 6000 super reviever type question

just recieved my rd6000 super.. i was reading through the book and it say "an extremely versatile feature of the super6 is the capability to select 4 diff. types of modulation. these are PPM/FM for standard Fm recievers and PM/FM-Reverse for "other brand" recievers,PCM1 and PCM2 for airtronics PCM recievers." does this mean.. if i have a futaba/tower/Jr or Hitech reciever on say channel 43 .. can i put a channel 47 (my radio) crystal in the reciever and be able to fly? im guessing i would only have to pull out the crystal in the side of the reciever and replace it w. one on ch.47.. am i correct or is it the brews thinking for me

It means that as long as the receiver channel matches your Tx channel, you can control the receiver regardless of who makes it (JR/Hitec/Futaba)... doesn't apply to PCM though... the only PCM rx you can control are Airtronics. As for changing crystals in your Rx, I'd say use only crystals made by the manufacturer of the receiver....JR crystals in JR rx, Airtronics crystals in Airtronics Rx...
