Default Hitec eclipse on 50 MHz

I have seen discussions on the use of the hitec Spectra module in the
Futaba 9C and began wondering if the Futaba 50 MHZ RF module would
also work in the hitec Eclipse. The hitec Eclipse is a wonderful transmitter,
but does not seem to be available on the Ham band 50 MHZ frequencies.
Trying it at the house indicates that it seems to work. I haven't range checked it
and I know the USA FCC forbids it, but thought the information might be
useful to someone living outside the USA where it might be legal.
Best wishes.

Equipment used on amateur bands does not have to be type approved. You are still allowed to construct your own equipment.

There are technical specifications to be complied with, but it's your responsibility as a licensed amateur operator to ensure that your equipment complies.

There are less (fewer?) restrictions on the spread spectrum bands too.

50/53 (at least the current implementation in RC) aren't spread spectrum...
