Default JR Buddy Cord

I have a JR XF421EX and a JR F400 that I'd like to connect for a buddy system. I don't have a cord, but it appears to be a regular cord I might find at Radio Shack. Am I right or do I need the cord from JR made special for these radios.

Thanks.

yup radio shack cords work great BUT make sure you get the shielded one, I got one for $2.99 and another club member asked how much I got mine for, He was happy he got his on sale at the LHS for $12 hehe they looked exactly the same and I have been using it for 2 yrs without a single problem. Just make sure it's shielded and not the stereo plug with 3 contacts, You only want 2 contacts and the 1/8 plug I believe it is.

Thanks for the info. Got a 6ft shielded cord from Radio Shack and it works great. Saved me $10 and time. Thanks again.
