I just purchased a used Futaba Super 8, and it did not come with the Transmitter Module. Should this have come with the transmitter? On Tower Hobbies, the price is $49. If anyone has one of those laying around that they would want to get rid of, I'd be interested.

Yes, the radio originally includes a module.
I don't know of anyone that would sell an 8UA without the transmitter module. Yes, I would expect the seller to provide the module with the radio as it certainly can't be used without it.

TM, Depending upon who you purchased it from and what they offered, it may or may not. Many shops, and esp used TXs sold, will be sold as transmitter alone. No module as the purchaser likely has a module on his desired channel.

A first time buyer of a Futaba Super 8 transmitter, myself included, are not aware that there is a separate Tx module that goes on the back of the radio. Hence, it is implicit that the radio should come with the Tx module.
You should definetly contact the seller and ask for the Tx module.
Good luck.

Look in the radios for sale section. There are usually quite a few there. If you don't find one you can PM me ,I think there are a few around here but I'll have to find them My hubby and I both fly on 50mhz and we replace the 72 mhz modules when we buy a tx with our own home made RF module .

"Flying Cat",
Respectfully, a first time buyer whoh is not familiar with the radio who expects a complete package should purchase a complete radio system as it is shipped from the manufacturer -- with module, receiver, servos, switch, battery pack...so that they are sure they received everything intended.
However, if you purchase "transmitter only", that really IS a TX only -- the 9Z is sold this way through us here in the US -- no module, no receiver, no servos, etc -- it is for those modelers who do know what they are buying and have everything else they need to go with it.
Assuming he purchased it used such as here or ebay, if the ad did not state "ch xx includes module' then it would be perfectly normal for it to have been sold minus the module.
Sincerely,

Well I went to my LHS and looked it over (before I bought it), I confused the module bay with the memory upgrade bay. And of course I didn't take the little cap off to see that it has a different plug than a standard FM crystal. It's an oversight on my part...
