Futaba FP-R118GP PCM RX
Can anyone out there tell me if the FutabaFP-R118GP PCM reciever is legal to use and is it a descent RX. I was just given one and I'm not sure if it is a good one.

RE: Futaba FP-R118GP PCM RX
From the Futaba Website...
Its a 512 bit PCM RX. NOT compatible with ANY modern 1024 bit PCM TX.
It is Wide band and thus its against AMA rules to use it without doing an interference check for potential 3IM problems. (not hard to do if you have 2 other Futaba compatible {by pulse shift... not necessarilly 512 bit} PCM TX's on adjacent channels either side of the channel the RX is on.[&:])
Its not going to work with ANY narrow band Futaba TX... so the thing isn't going to be legal to use in the US.
Some collector might want it for display purposes.
