Default Still confused about flaperons

I still need some help with flaperons. I have them set up on my Hanger 9 Pizazz .40. I can drop them with the flap dial. But, here's my question: I have a 2->6 (elevator - flap) mix set up for 3d type flying. Do I want the flaps to go down (increase lift) with up elevator input or go up (decrease lift) with up elevator input?

Default RE: Still confused about flaperons

Prebres -

I usually set up my 3D stuff with both flaperons and spoilerons. Using a 3-position switch, I set down as normal (no mix), middle at flaperon (ailerons same direction slaved to elevator), and up at spoileron (ailerons opposite slaved to elevator). The set up requires the flaperon mix and 2 programmable mixes (for spoilerons slaved to elevator) on Futaba. As Chuck pointed out, flaperon really tightens up Waterfalls, etc. The spoilerons are usually for taming the wing rock in Elevators, Harriers, etc.
In 4 years of flying the Pizazz (2) with the mix I haven't found much use for spoilerons. I flip them on in flat spins and it seems to help bring the nose up, but that's it (I'm really nose heavy w/a Saito .91). Elevators and harrier are a pain regardless of the mix, due in part to the short wing span, nose heavy cg location and weight. I do like the flaperons and leave them on most of the time. Take offs are always either hand launch (holding the canopy) or full-throttle at the weeds then "pop-up" with the flaperons into a hover. It's a fun little plane (so much so that I have 2).
