I ordered mine on Monday and received it on Tuesday. Charged it up and played with the programming last night. Very easy to use. Based on your needs this is a great radio/price.

RE: Airtronics RD6000 on sale....
Just received mine last night. One reason I bought it was the shift select feature, so I can fly my JR as well as Futaba setups. Mainly bought it for parkflyers to replace my old Hitec analog radio. Was going to get the Flash 5X but cheapest I could find it was $110 at ServoCity, and it does not include shift select and is PPM only. RD6000 can go PCM also. Very nice radio for the price.

Here's a tip on the RD6000:
In airplane mode, it only has dual rate and expo for the elev and the ailerons. But in Heli mode, there are three flight conditions or modes and you can set both travel and expo for elev, ail, and rudder. In effect giving you triple rates and expo!
Of course, there's a catch.
To do this, you will have to give up Flaperons and aileron differential. You can still use one servo for each aileron, but just use a Y-harness to hook up to the aileron channel. You can even use the throttle curve to fine tune your setup or leave it linear. Leave the rudder curve at zero % mixing unless you want to play around with that too.
This may work well for some setups.
This radio is a great value.

True...if you buy the PCM version of the transmitter. You can still shift select with the PPM version.

Hmm, I just looked at the manual, and it says the Modulation menu allows selection of PPM/FM, PPM/FM Reverse, PCM1, or PCM2. Maybe I got a freebie. Still have to buy an Airtronics PCM receiver, though. Nice tip on the heli mode, Airbike.

All of the RD6000/8000 line can do PCM and PPM... it's just a software selection in the radio. When you buy a PCM or PPM version, all that changes is the receiver.

Yes, once you turn it off, trims are stored... power it back up and your trims are where you left them. Change models/memory and the trim settings you had set for that one are where you left them.
