basic information about raido control
Im looking for any information on radio control.
i.e.
how do the transmiters work?
how do the recivers work?
what ar the main components?
stuff like that
all I can find on the web are premade things for tons of money.

The receiver receives
and the main components do the main work.

thanks for the info
but you mean to tell me that this hobby of yours is limited to building nothing but kits out of a box, never understanding how it works?

RE: basic information about raido control
You can build anything you want, if that's what floats your boat. I've flown with an old timer that likes to build his radios, but he preferred single stick radios that aren't very popular these days.
Two words of caution though: If you want to build a radio system it absolutely MUST comply with the FCC guidelines for RC aircraft radios. And if you want to use that radio at MY club I'm going to want to see a certificate that makes me believe that you aren't going to shoot my plane down while I'm flying.
Second: You will probably end up teaching yourself to fly, since I don't think that thare alot of clubs around that would trust a home made radio. Teaching yourself is certainly doable, but more difficult.
Good luck.

RE: basic information about raido control
ok, I found a bunch of stuff at tower hobbies (very expenive!!) but it seem every thing is done by servos that are pluged into the reciver, I just need a reciver that controls switches, variable resisters, and stuff like that. I could probably mod a reciver to do that but for that money I dont want to risk it.
