Default HS 625MG a good servo?

I'm looking at getting a couple new servos for the tail of my 40 sized 3D bird. Looking around, I see the HS 625 is pretty fast, plenty of torque, and reasonably priced ($36) I"m trying to stay away from digitals for now as I don't want to drop the cash. Anybody have experience with this servo? Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

I have a couple of those in my 40-size H9 Cap.

They're good servos, and loads of torque, but IMO they're slow. For 15 bucks more you can have a servo(5625MG) that is twice as fast with just as much torque.

The speed of the 625 and 5625 are the same.

You might want to consider the new HS-635HB's. Same performance with Karbonite gears. I'm using the digital versions 6635HB's in my .40 size Extreme Flight R/C Edge 540T (Converted to electric)

Is there any advantage to the karbonite gears? I want something that can take some bumps without stripping. These 635s are priced good.

Mike you're right, I screwed up. .15/.18 for the 625 and .14/.17 for the 5625. Negligible difference.

I was thinking of the 645(.20/.24), which is actually what I have in my cap, not the 625.
