Servos twitching, T9CHP / receiver compatablility?

Servos twitching, T9CHP / receiver compatablility?
Hi.
I have just installed a Futaba R136F 6 channel PPM into my Edge 540.
When I turn both the Transmitter and the Receiver on the servos all twitch intermittently.
If the transmitter is turned off, the servos do not twitch.
Any idea what the cause is please. Is there a compatability issue. When I use the PCM 1024 that came with the T9CHP there is no twitching.
Yes I am changing the mode over to PPM.
