Futaba receiver high or low 72Mhz
I bought a flight pack at the LHS, but since there was no crystal how do I know if this is a high-band or low-band Futaba receiver?

All I got was half the foam container. The LHS sold the transmitter to someone separately and sold the the remainder of the radio set to me as a flight pack.

PM,
The easiest approach i can give you is to install a high band and a low band crystal, as far apart as you can get, and test it. If you can't do that, the easiest is to send it to us to retune for you, letting us know if you want high or low band.

Ann Marie,
I have tried the test you suggested. I have a 9C and modules and crystals for channels 23 and 38. I put a channel 38 crystal in my channel 23 receiver and used the channel 38 module. What I found is that both channels had the same range (with in about 5 ft). Is this normal? I expected more degradation of the signal. I am happy with the product. I just need to understand.

Yes, this is normal, as you are very close to the dividing line. Test like 11-15 vs 55-60 and you will see a significant, noticable difference.
