No need to get snippy, guy. I didn't say the 9Z was "best".

I was just pointing out that the 9Z can do several things that the 10X (either version) can't. Its not what I think; it is a fact.

Tony I don't think there is any problem with dual receivers, but I have never used two. As for 8611, mine work just fine.

I use dual receivers with mine without a problem... Every 33% or larger plane at my field uses dual receivers with their 9Zs, except one... He has a 10X and I don't know how many recievers he has...

Shouldn't be a problem... The issue is will the Futaba PCM receivers drive the 8611... If there was a problem I'm sure we would have heard about it by now...

I use dual RXs on my 35%, ZAP with synth, RX are Futaba 9ch PCM xtal based, works fine. For that matter, I know 10X users with dual JR rxs, that too works fine as best I can tell.

Don't have first hand info on 8611's, but I use JR 8411's with my Futaba RX/TX. Works fine. I do have a buddy using a 9CAP and 8611's. He had nothing but good words about the setup.

yeah i know all about the 9CAP and 8611 setup, i'm running that now. i have no problems with it and like the way it performs. however i was reading another post in here where a guy was running some analog jr servos and an older 7 ch futaba receiver, and he wsa getting glitches.
just wanted to make sure there was no problem since i love the jr 8611 servos. can't beat them for the price!!

Tony,

I still have some 8101s and 4721s left over from my JR days. I'm running them on a R127DF- Futaba's bread'n'butter seven channel receiver. Other than the need to reverse polarity in the transmitter, on channels using those servos, I've seen no issues at all. That includes PPM and PCM.

Go into the servo menu; you can choose "Normal" or "Reverse".

JR servos have opposite polarity from Futaba.

Choose reverse.

I just checked my program for my 30%, and sure enough, all my jr servos have been reversed. I guess i just didn't realize it when i set it up.

how hard is it to install the heavy duty servo springs into a 9Z??

Installing the springs: Not a novice project, but most RC folk are pretty good with tinkering, so many won't have a problem. The first problem on the ZAP is that removing and replacing the back cover can be a pain. I've done it about ten times so I can do it in about a minute now. But the first time I pulled it, I spent at least 30 minutes trying to get it to fit back on. Another issue wih the ZAP is that you must pull the main logic board to gain access to the gimbles. There are probably twenty connections to this board. If you are unsure of your ability to deal with fine electronics, I'd suggest sending it somewhere for the spring replacement. However, it can be done at home as I did mine without any problems. However, as a side bar, the Futaba service center indicated to me the last time I sent in the TX for a checkup that the stiff springs I put in can cause extra wear on the gimbles. IMO this is a small price to pay for stiffer sticks.

did they give you any idea of how much extra wear on the gimbles?? how long would you expect them to last with the stock springs vs the stiff springs?? what is the cost of gimble replacement??
