Default FM or PCM crystal - futaba

This may sound crazy but here goes. This never cross my mind but is their a difference between a FM crystal or PCM crystal? I don't think I've ever seen crystals labeled PCM, if I had, I wasn't paying attention. Are their PCM crystals? I have a 8UAPS radio, do I buy FM crystals or PCM crystal. Don't laugh guys, it just dawn on me. Maybe I'm having a melt down - Thanks, steve

Generally speaking, they are the same. PPM and PCM are just modulation schemes.

Crystals can vary among manufacturers. Also, dual conversion and single conversion Rx's do not share the same type (the latter technology requires two xtals to do the work of one).

No,
An FM crystal is the same as PCM. The difference is in the modulation encoding not the frequency which is controlled by the crystal.

Just remember that the basic difference between FM and PCM is the same difference between ANALOG and DIGITAL!
