Default Futaba 7CAF 7-Channel Computer Radio

I've been flying R/C for about 5 years and over that time have constructed several models and, ................. patched the same airplanes more than several times; ie, I'm not a complete rookie. My radio equipment has been very basic (archaic) ..........Futaba (AM) 4 Channel equipment (I own (3) - donated). Now, I'm trying to decide what I would like to move up to. I'm staying with Futaba and I've been told the Futaba 7CAF is the answer for someone with my limited but potential skills. I know that something like a Skysport would suffice.............for now; the computer interface intrigues me and I feel sure that I'd grow into the many options it might offer. I'd appreciate any comments, especially those folks that own one of these beasts. Thanks in advance.

It is time for you to get a better transmitter. The new 7CAP(F) series is great. If you have more than one model in flying condition you can store all of your settings. And unlike the previous 7-channel transmitter it is so easy to program that you probably won't need the manual much after you are set up.

I just got mine last week and it does seem easy to program, check out the other threads on the software glitch with the built in timer though. If you use the throttle to trigger the timer, it is possible for it to zero out the travel on your right aileron, this will allow only the left aileron to move. I tried it on mine and it definitely did that, I will stick to my trusty old egg timer!

Thanks guys. To be honest I'm torn between the 6EXA or the 7CAF...........any druthers on either one of these computer systems; I like to think I'm a good steward of my finances although I'm sure my wife would argue when it comes to my passions, eh?
