Default receivers

I was wondering why futaba is the only company that uses high and low receivers?
So far they are the only ones to do this. What gives? Does this mean that you
can not use a receiver that was bought on 22 with a 58 crystal?

Thanks in advance.

I can't tell you why they do it, but that's what it means...unless you send the receiver back to Futaba (or another certified shop) to have it re-tuned.

From what I understand, Futaba uses a narrow front end to ensure better noise rejection. With this said, the band pass filters are tuned at CH 23 and CH 36

While your system will work putting a CH58 crystal in a CH 22 receiver, your range will be shorter than normal.

I don't know.
I have tried a CH 38 crystal in low band receiver but I sent it off to have it reset before flying.
