Default 2 1:4 servos help?

Im re-building my rock crawler and would like to run 2 1:4 scale servos in it for the steering. I have a Futaba 3PM controller. Ive never worked with 1/4 scale servos, the Y adapter and all of that, and I dont want to waste the money if this aint going to work. So can I safley run the 2 servos off of my controller with out problem? I also plan on running a 5 cell pack for the receiver. Thanks

They will work, but why not just run 2 high torque servos?
That way you wouldn't have to mod the mounts.

Because the servos that I want to use put out 343 oz. of torque @ 6v and they are only about $40 each. As for the mounts Im not to concerned because Im building my own mounts....again.
So for the servos do I plug a 5 cell pack into each servo or just one servo or just into the receiver.

You should be able to run them off of the radios pack.
Just switch to a 5 cell pack with a higher capacity.

These larger jumbo servos need a robust power supply. If you anticipate the need for the servos to work in adverse conditions, I'd suggest you couple the servos to a five cell 1100mAh pack or better with a HD switch. The small RX's offered for surface equipment may not handle the sustained current draw of the jumbos very well. So alternate power routing seems like a viable solution.

So do I run 1 5 cell to each servo or split the wires from the Y adapter and run 1 5 cell to both? Thanks

A large single battery should be adeqaute. I'd use a 2700-3000mAh battery pack with these servos.

Take a look at Smart Fly Products HD switches, they have a HD pigtails for the battery and two heavy wire pigtails for the output side of the switch. This would work great for your application.
