Default Servo oscillates!!!!

I have a two JR 4131 on my elevators and one of them is oscillating a lot, can it be that the gears are worn and it is searching for center? can I keep on flying like that or should I replace the servos?

It could be that or try unplugging and reconnecting the leads a few times. Corrosion has caused similar symptoms with me.

I agree with RTK. Look for corrosion, or try just replacing the extension if there is one. I have had extensions that just didn't work well. Are the connectors gold plated?

I have 2 JR 811 digitals. They are on the ailerons of a profile airplane. When I turn on the power and move the ailerons, they start oscillating and wont stop until i lightly touch them. One servo oscialltes more than the other. I went ahead and flew my plane believeing that the air pressure would keep them stable...and it did..I did not notice anything different as plane flew normally. It was all perfect. But I dont want to fly until I know this is normal. What could be happening?

Default JR Servo oscillates!!!!

JR servos seem to "hunt" more than most. I will agree that it's a JR thing if the extensions are good, or the servo does it with no extension attached_bob

Default RE: Servo oscillates!!!!

both my servos are straight into the RX..no extnesions. Earlier I thought it was due to a freshly charged battery as I had heard that digitals tend to "shiver" on freshly charged packs...However this shld not be the case as I am on 4.8v AAA nimh. This is more likely to happen on 6v batteries. One thing I noticed though: If I disconnect the aileron linkage from the servo horn, then their is no oscillation...Strange...as there is no binding on the aileron linkage as well, its straight from the aileron to the servo arm...the aileron linkage is abt 4 inches in length.
