Default Problem with charging the Futaba T6XA Transmitter

I've just got the Futaba T6XA Transmitter today and I am attempting to charge it. I plugged one end with the 220v-110v power converter to the wall adapter and the other round end to the right side of the transmitter as indicated in the manual. I didn't see the charging red light on. The Ni-Cd battery pack was already inside the TX and I could turn on the TX to see the power indicator of 10.2v. What is wrong?

Thanks in advance,
Lucas
