Default Need help with Receiver measurements! Please READ

I have a Hitec 4 channel feather receiver and need to know how long the antenna wire that is on there. [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXRT25&P=7]LINK[/link]

I had this installed on my Little Heli, and it ripped nice chunk of wires off the end. Can someone tell me what kind of wire it uses and if you have this receiver, can you MEASURE how long the wire supposed to be? Also, how bad will this affect the range from it losing a few inches at the end??

Thanks in advance!

When flying a micro heli, you are not going to have range problems because of losing a few inches from the antenna wire.

You can always do a range test.

The antenna wire on my Feather is 41" from the solder connection of the pc board to the tip. I can rell you that I would NEVER use a Feather in a Heli. The are too prone to interference.

It has very short range and is single conversion, so signal rejection is not good. I use mine for indoor flying, and only when there no more one other aircraft in ther air. If 2 or more other transmitters turn on, it gets lots of interference.

There are not any "good" ones that will use the same receiver crystal since it is single conversion. Berg,
http://www.bergent.net/products.html
makes an excellent micro receiver that is compatable with most all transmitters, and has good range.
Aeromicro has them on sale now & includes a free crystal:

Check them out, they are great for just about any type model.

I have also heard very good things about the HiTec Electron Receiver.
