Default Receiver matching

I have a JR MAX4 FM ABC&W transmitter. I want to pick up a receiver on ebay or ??. What do I need to know in order to choose a Rx that will be compatible?

Default RE: Receiver matching

any fm receiver with positive shift and on the correct frequency will work. airtronics/sanwa receivers are compatible but only the newer blue colored "Z" types, the old black ones will work but require modifications to your servo plugs.

many companies like FMA, berg, GWS and hitech make receivers with either shift type or universal receivers that work with all brands.

dual conversion is preferable to single conversion except for the berg that gives great range and glitch free operation in a very small size.

number of channels is not important, the extra ones simply won't be used.
