Default Futaba TX and Hitec RX in PCM?

I am considering buying a Futaba 7CAP and I have a newbie question, so please forgive me. Am I right in assuming that Futaba transmitters will work with Hitec FM Rx's but not PCM RX's?

You are right, Futaba TX's will talk to a negative shift Hitec RX. Hitec makes both negative and positive shift RX's. Just make sure yours is Futaba/Hitec (neg) and not JR/Airtronics (pos)
PCM setups are brand specific, not sure what Hitec has available for PCM RX's!
Good choice in radios

You are correct in that Hitec and Futaba PPM receivers and transmitters are compatable, However the PCM modes (note that PCM is also FM for both Futaba and Hitec) are not compatable.

I just got a 7Cap and it is great. I am also using a Hitec receiver that came with my Laser 4 that was in my trainer. You will just have to change to PPM mode to use the receiver, you can then change back to PCM to use the receiver that comes with the 7CAP. You will like the radio. However, you might want to look in to upgrading the battery pack. I have been warned that with the digital servos your flight time is limited with the 600 mah pack.
