Default Info. needed on old tower hobbies system 500-gold series

Tower Hobbies transmitter. Model No. TST-6G. Front of transmitter says(Tower Hobbies System 500) Freq. 72.630 Mhz Gold Series. Is it AM/FM?? and is it legal?? Must have been made around 1984. Need any info.
Thanks, Lakeviewjim[]

Default RE: Info. needed on old tower hobbies system 500-gold series

I believe these radios were made by Airtronics. If there is no gold "1991" sticker on the back then it's not a narrow band system. If it truly is from 1984 then it probably isn't narrow band. If I remember right the narrow band stuff didn't start coming out until about 1986/87. Also, if it doesn't say "FM" anywhere on the Tx or Rx then it's an AM system.
