hi, can one use the 72 FM freq in Europe?

a) as a visitor
b) as a resident

is there a different standard on the other side of the pond? [X(]

in the UK, its 35 mhz for aircraft, UNLESS, you are attending an organised flying event or competition for which written dispensation has been obtained from the necessary authorites.

Ok John, very complete information, but somewhat confusing.... isn't it?

I mean if there's meet (let's say) in the UK, does everyone from other countries have to change their RC gear to conform to the UK standards? (????)!

if someone can explain to me the (practical?) logistics of flying in Europe, plese help me out [sm=drowning.gif]

the reason I ask, is that I will be living in Europe (in more than one country) and am trying to figure out what to buy ? it seems like i will have to sell my 72MHz radio before i leave.... []

This explains the growth in modular transmitters.

If you are a serious eventer, then you would have modules to cover the various regions ( eg 35MHz, 36MHz, 40 MHz, 72 MHz ) and use the one that is appropiate.
