Default Flaperons for Futaba 6EXA radio

Hi all

I am trying to activate the flaperon function on my radio...everything is hooked up according to manufacturer specs...

When I turn the flaps dial the ailerons go up instead of down.....any one know why this is and how I can fix it???

Thanks
Dave

Have you put channel 6 in reverse ?

My mistake was when I used this function was that I had channel 1 reverse and then when I moved the aileron stick it was the flap movement but when I used the flap dail then it was the aileron function.

Put channel 1 and 6 in normal direction and try again and check so you don't have FPv instead of FP activated.

And please try not to crosspost.

I don't think there are any other solution other that to install a servoreverser on every servo in the wing or move the coupling from one side into the other side.

i saw one like this. make sure servo arms are pointing at each other, or away from each other ,but not in the same direction

I just tried setting up my flapperons on my 6EXA last night and am also having trouble. When I turn the flap dial all the way clockwise, flaps go up. When I turn it counter clockwise, flaps go down. For them to be in the neutral position, dial has to be centered.

I thought that all the way up was supposed to be neutral, then turning the dial would only make them go down. What am I doing wrong?

every thing is ok. thats how flap knob works. page 17 of manual advises that you mechanically limit knob travel so that flap will not go "up". pay no attention to suggestions of servo reversers or swapping servos.. now post for viper exactly what you did.

Hi Viper1676,

This is cross post from Futaba Support, but I thought you may be interested in the FAQ's on the 6EXA, they will help you out quite a bit:

Please check our website on the 6EXA for the correction to the manual:

http://www.futaba-rc.com/techsupport/tech-6exa.html

Also these FAQ's will help you with the set up:

http://www.futaba-rc.com/faq/faq-6exa.html

Thanks, Krysta

I didn't have trouble setting up my flaperon settings, once I fixed the reversing. The only time they've deflected up rather than down was when I plugged the servo leads in wrong.

OK Viper, here we go. According to Lazyboy, I have everything setup correctly. Here is what I did.

1. Plug RIGHT wing servo into channel 1 on the receiver.
2. Plug LEFT wing servo into channel 6 on the receiver.
3. Go to program mode on the transmitter and activate the "Flapperon" feature. (I think you
already know how to do this so I won't explain).

I am not sure I am going to like the way flapperons work, but I am going to experiment with them.

Allen....Thanks for the info....I ended up getting the knob to work as just flaps (down) and not spoilers(up)....What I did was turn the knob all the way so that spoilers would be up....Then I took off the servo arm and centered it so the ailerons were at a neutral position....now when you turn the dial you get full deflection of flaps....
Let me know how you like flying them...so far I've only tried them once. Gonna take some getting used to....I'm going to try and get up today but I have some repairs to do due to a brain lapse in judgement on Sunday...
A little to windy to fly but when up anyway......you know the rest
