Default Rx Channels

I have a 9 CAP Tx. Is it ok to use a Rx with fewer than 9 channels? I am not talking about only using 5 channels of a 9 channel Rx. I just bought a J-3 Cub and will be using no more than 5-6 channels. Can I buy a 6 channel Rx for it?

yep, just make sure that it's negative shift or one of the universal shift receivers.

Yup. 9 channels is what the TX is capable of, but you can use any amount. For instance, I use an Electron 6 (6 channel) RX for one of my planes. I also have a 9C.
