Default Reciver Antenna Cut

I was removing a known good receiver from an airplane and accidentally cut approx 3 inches off the end. Range check on the ground seem fine but I am just not sure. Can I re-attach (solder) the broken end back on and keep going or would this be suicide? This is a hi-tech 7 ch standard receiver. The Pilot I have glued in the cockpit doesn't have an opinion. I think he will fly anything!! Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks

No problem solderinng the wire back on. Make sure you cover it with shrinkwrap or tape to be sure it does not short on anything.

I didn't expect such a quick reply. Thanks for the advice.

As you proved, three inches does not make that much difference. Solder it back on if you wish but I would be tempted to just forget it
