Default Crystal lifespan

How long do crystals last in your transmitter? Should you replace a crystal after a number of years as a safety precaution?

Thanks.

Rx and Tx crystals are hermetically sealed in a metal casing and should last a lifetime, unless it has been mechanically damaged e.g. dropped on a hard surface from a height, or in a bad plane crash.
