Default Cirrus Radio change crystal from 27 to 72 Mhz

My fling buddy has a starter kit that included plane and radio (http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/128316.asp). The radio is a "Mode II 4 channel FM 27Mhz radio control system". Lately we noticed that his motor cuts our if his plane is no less than 100 yards away and he looses control. I fly with a JR on 72 Mhz and have no problem. Long story short, do any of you know if we can simply switch the crystals on the Cirrus TX and RX to a different frequency?

You can't use 72 mHz crystals in a 27 mHz system.
