Default Reversed Servos

Is it possible to order servos from the factory with reversed rotation direction? I realize the Hitec digitals are easily programmed to reverse but I prefer Futaba or JR servos. I am installing two elevator servos on a Y harness and I prefer not to use a reversing lead because of hassles with the trim pot etc.

You can get reversed JR servos from Don's Hobby Shop in Salina, Kansas. He keeps quite a few models in stock.

Thanks for that info Rich, do you have a web address for them? Also, are they modifying them in house or is this something they special order from the factory?

Thanks,

John

Why not modify them yourself? It's not very difficult, just swapping four wires.

All servos can not be reversed by simply swapping wires - a lot of the modern servos have the motor and sometimes the pot soldered directly to the printed circuit board without any wires.
Also, if you don't own a small wattage soldering iron and are expereienced using it, it is not a good idea to go into something as crowded as a servo.
If yours can be reversed a service center can do it for you - or tell you if they are not so.

I think that I read somewhere that as standard JR & Futaba servos have opposite rotation.

Are you suggesting one Futaba and one JR to drive the elevator halves? I suppose it could be made to work if the specs on the two servos were similar. Has anybody else tried this interesting solution to the split elevator problem?

Hitec also turns the opposite direction that a Futaba does and might be a closer match to the Futaba.

John, sorry this is late, been away for the weekend. Don's website is www.donshobbyshop.com. The JR's I get from him are factory reversed.
