Default Hitec rotate diff. than Futaba?

I am setting up split elevators, but my servos are rotating the same way, in other words, I am getting elevons! I read on here that Hitec rotate opposite futaba...any thoughts?

Also, does anybody know where to get a Y conn. that reverses one servo?

Thanks,
james

Default Hitec rotate diff. than Futaba?

I built Clif's reverser per spec, and while it does work, I found the out put to be slightly underdamped. That is, for a given change in position, the output shaft overrotates before correcting itself to the final position. Most "analog" servos do this to a small degree but Clif's reverser seem to exacerbate it.

In any case, I don't like the use of reversers in general. No matter how good they are, they always inject some nonlinearity to the response. For sport flying that'll probably do just fine, but if this a precision aerobatic plane and you're using hi-dollar servos, I wouldn't use one.

BTW, the Hitec and Futaba servos I have do indeed rotate in opposite directions given the same input.

Default $32 bucks?

I may just buy a couple of Hitec Std. servos for the money . My use is for a CBM F-16N, that uses standard Fut. 148's...

Thanks folks,
james

Default Incase anybody cares...

I used a Hitec 303 (std.) And sure enough, it rotates in the opposite direction as the Fut. servo, so I won't have to buy/build a Y- with a reverser..

They center the same, travel the same, and no chatter either.. Maiden flight tom. morning (for me, the plane is used..)

Thanks, whoever stated the Hitec rotation whatchamagiggee-fact!
